One of the original pioneers of "video art", he is known for classical evocative moving images. I have had the honor of working as his cinematographer for over twenty years and many dozens of projects.

These works are seen mostly outside the US in venues such as: the Venice Biennalle; The Guggenheims in Berlin, Bilbao, NYC; The Paris Grand Palais; The National Gallery, The Tate Modern and St. Paul's Cathedral in London; The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia. The Whitney, Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA and Fricke in New York also have pieces in their permanent collections.
